Waxxbill and Finches - Estrildidae

Estrildid finches are small passerine birds, which can be classified as the family Estrildidae (waxbills, munias and allies). They are seed eaters with short, thick and pointed bills. They are all similar in structure, but vary widely in plumage colours. Most of these birds require warmer habitats, although some finches have adapted to the cooler climates of Australia.
