Pilbara 2019

Before leaving Australia in March 2019, we went to the Pilbara - a place we hadn't been to before. It was really hot, actually probably the wrong time of the year to visit that place, but we ran out of time ...

Having said all of that, it was just a fantastic trip! Well organised by our friends from Inala Nature Tours and accompanied by one of the most knowledgeable people I can think of when it comes to birding in Western Australia, Frank O'Connor, we have enjoyed every minute of this trip.

Bird-wise I have finally seen and photographed one of the really "difficult Grey Species of Australian birds" => the Grey Honeyeater! It had eluded me for a number of years. We found it despite a temperature of +41 Degrees and millions of flies at the Karijini NP. Cheers Frank O'Connor!

This album is probably the one showing the most scenic shots of all the albums I have posted so far, a true reflection of that great place.
